Dracaena

With over 40 species, the Dracaena plant is the perfect houseplant. Dracaenas are relatively low-maintenance and can survive in low or indirect bright light, both common in household environments. However, avoid direct sunlight. As a bonus, Dracaena plants are known to help clean indoor air.

 Common types include:

• Dracaena Red Star w/burgundy, sword-like leaves
• Dracaena Limelight w/lime-green leaves
• Dracaena Marginata or Madagascar Dragon Tree w/leathery, purple ribbon-like leaves and cane-like stems
• Dracaena Fragrans or Corn Plant w/cornstalk-like leaves
• Dracaena Braunii or Lucky Bamboo w/green, bamboo-like stems
• Dracaena Reflexa or Variegated Song of India w/sword-like leaves offering creamy-white or yellow edges and green interiors

You’ll appreciate the ease in which these plants add color and freshness to your home. At the start, they’ll be ideal tabletop plants and will eventually take on small, tree-like similarities.
