Butterfly Attractors (Pollinators)
Florida boasts over 180 species of butterflies of which 40 are unique to the state. We are pleased to feature many native plants that attract and provide food for both adult butterflies and larvae. When choosing your plants, make sure to include both nectar plants (for adults) and host plants in which butterflies can lay eggs.
Additionally, we feature plants that attract other important pollinators, including bees, birds, bats and moths. These pollinators as a whole are essential to our agricultural production, as the USDA reports that 75% of staple crops and 80% of flowering plants depend on pollinators.
