Aquatic Plants

Florida is home to hundreds of native aquatic plants that add beauty to any water feature in your landscaping. Our featured plants typically live in the littoral (or deep) zone and grow from the bottom. You’ll see their flowers and leaves floating on the surface.

Common varieties include Water and Cow Lilies, Water Hyacinths and the American Lotus.

Additional types of aquatic plants include those that live above the water line (upland plants), emergent plants that live in 2″ or more of water and those living on at the edge of the water (or in the riparian zone).
